Former Player Has A Warning For Anthony Edwards After Game 1 Loss

Anthony Edwards’ play and confidence have been two major catalysts behind the Minnesota Timberwolves’ incredible playoff run.

However, he’s just 22 years old, and he still has plenty of lessons to learn on the basketball court.

One of those lessons might be to be careful with what he wishes for, and he might get to learn that one right away.

He called out Kyrie Irving after beating the Denver Nuggets, showing his excitement for getting to guard him in the Western Conference Finals.

Kyrie responded by scoring 30 points on 52% from the floor in their first matchup.

That’s why former NBA star Tim Hardaway Sr. claimed that Edwards needs to learn not to poke the bear and to keep his mouth shut at times.

Talking on “The Carton Show,” Hardaway stated that a veteran like Kyrie wouldn’t just stand and let him do that talking, and it showed in Game 1.

“Anthony Edwards, keep your mouth closed. Don’t wake up the sleeping giant. Be careful what you ask for.”

Of course, that’s just the way he is, and while he’s obviously got some maturing to do, that’s not going to change.

Also, it’s not like Edwards disrespected Kyrie or claimed that he was going to shut him down.

If anything, it may have been just a nod of respect towards one of the most talented players to ever lace them up.

Even so, Irving must have heard his words and made sure to make a statement against the young star.

But as long as this is healthy competition and he backs up the talk on the court, this shouldn’t be much of an issue.
