Now that the season is over for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team has to make plans for what will come next.

Will they stick with the roster they have now or make some changes?

They are obviously getting a new head coach this summer, but will they also break up the duo of Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell?

Speaking to the press, via @hoodiGarland on Twitter, Cavaliers general manager Koby Altman talked about the combination of these two and said that he thinks they are working well together.

“There’s way more data that speaks to it works than doesn’t,” Altman said.

Koby Altman was asked about Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell fit together.

Altman also added that these two players are just in their second year together and that these sorts of partnerships only get better with time.

He is urging patience but will Cavaliers fans really give it?

Most reports say that it’s unlikely Garland and Mitchell will play another game together.

There is a chance that Mitchell and the Cavaliers don’t work out a new extension and he heads to another team in the summer.

At the same time, other reports have said that Garland could leave if Mitchell remains.

So although Altman is praising these two players and their work together, they might not be on the same team for much longer.

If the duo is split up, it’ll be a shame because there really is a lot of talent between them.

But the team hasn’t reached the level they wanted for the last few years, consistently coming up short despite all their potential.

Therefore, changes might be exactly what the Cavaliers need.

It’s just a matter of seeing which changes they commit to.
