The Boston Celtics definitively beat the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night, carried by the hard work of Jaylen Brown and his 40 points.

On Friday’s “First Take,” Kendrick Perkins said that Brown’s performance was a statement and made one thing clear: he’s the best player on the Celtics.

Perkins said that Brown has been terrific all season long and very reliable for the Celtics.

He thinks that he will be a key piece to getting this Celtics team to the Finals and their first championship win in years.

Brown’s 40 points in Game 2 are tied for the third-most points in a conference finals in all of Celtics history.

It was a truly impressive showing from the young star, who has averaged 23 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.

Perkins pointed out that Brown can be a very clutch player too.

At the end of Game 1, coach Joe Mazzulla drew up a play that got the ball to Brown, not Jayson Tatum.

That was a smart move because Brown’s miraculous three-pointer led the team to overtime and they claimed victory.

It’s interesting that Mazzulla elected to go with Brown over Tatum, a move that has raised some eyebrows.

It’s also created a bit more criticism of Tatum, who hasn’t been performing as some Celtics fans had hoped.

But if Brown keeps playing like he has, the Celtics can still push past the Pacers and reach the Finals.

Some people like Perkins say that Brown is the best player for the Celtics, while others claim it is Tatum or even someone else.

That makes it clear that Boston has a deep and powerful roster, which is definitely good news as they approach the Finals.
