After two years with the Los Angeles Lakers and getting traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in a blockbuster deal involving Anthony Davis, Lonzo Ball was thought to have a chance to come into his own in the Big Easy.
Unfortunately, Ball only lasted two seasons in New Orleans before signing with the Chicago Bulls, where he was thought to shine, as the storied franchise had put together a talented roster of young players.
In 35 games to start his stint with the Bulls, Ball showed signs of promise in Chicago, but then his persistent injury problems began to flare up again, leading to missing the rest of the season and the following two seasons.
All signs pointed to Ball’s once-promising career in the NBA coming to an end prematurely, as it seemed as though his knees weren’t going to hold up during the grind of a season in the league.
However, it seems as though there could be some light at the end of the tunnel for Ball, as he claims he’s on track to play the first game of the 2024-25 NBA regular season for the Bulls, via NBACentral.
“Yes, I firmly believe that,” Ball said. “That’s the plan that I’m on, and I haven’t had any setbacks. I expect to play the first game.”

Obviously, this is a great sign that Ball can continue his NBA career and potentially convince Chicago to retain him or at least audition for another team.
Only time will tell if Ball’s body can hold up during next season and if he can extend his playing career a bit longer.
