The Minnesota Timberwolves are in some serious trouble right now.
They showed that they could beat the Dallas Mavericks, but they’ve failed to hold onto their leads and have collapsed in the final 12 minutes of both games.
On top of that, both Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns have left plenty to be desired thus far, and that has been the biggest difference in the series.
That’s why, even though Luka Doncic knocked down a huge game-winning shot over Rudy Gobert, former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins doesn’t want the blame to fall on the Defensive Player of the Year’s shoulders.
Following the loss, Perkins took to Twitter to call out Edwards and Towns for not showing up, stating that while he’s usually overcritical of Gobert — like all current and former NBA players — that wasn’t the case this time.
Ain’t no way in hell we are going to blame that L on Rudy. That blame goes to Ant Man and KAT. I’m usually on Rudy case but we ain’t about to do that. The 2 Franchise Players hasn’t showed up in this Series.

Granted, Gobert hasn’t been particularly good or impactful against the Mavs’ big men either, but he’s not to blame for this situation.
Karl-Anthony Towns has been missing in action and he was literally unplayable down the stretch in Game 2, all while Edwards hasn’t even driven to the lane or attempted multiple shots down the stretch.
Gobert was a big reason why the Timberwolves were able to reach this stage, but Edwards and Towns are the stars, and they’re not doing their part right now.
At the end of the day, the clip will show Gobert getting beaten in the playoffs again, but this time, just this time, he’s not the one to blame.
