It’s been months since the Indiana Pacers last lost at home.
Tonight, the Boston Celtics will look to put an end to that streak.
Joe Mazzulla’s team hits the road for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, and they’re 6.5-point favorites ahead of tip-off.
Notably, that number could only go higher if Tyrese Haliburton misses the game with a hamstring injury.
Even so, Jayson Tatum doesn’t want his team to be overly confident.
Talking after the shootaround, the Celtics star claimed that Game 3 is always the toughest, as they have to go to a different environment (via Justin Turpin).
Jayson Tatum on the #Celtics mindset entering Game 3:
“Game 3 is always the toughest, just because you’re going to a new environment, their first home game. Obviously, they’re excited to be back home, and we expect a great atmosphere, and they’ve been really good at home.” pic.twitter.com/rFSRn6bLB9

Tatum says the Pacers will obviously have a lot of energy, adding that they’re a very good home team, so they just can’t rest on their laurels.
The Celtics made a bit of a statement in Game 2.
They had lost both previous Game 2s, but they came out with a lot of energy vs. the Pacers.
This team has a tendency to drop games they should’ve won more often than not, and with the way things have shaped out in the Western Conference Finals, they can’t afford to extend this series any further.
The Celtics are the odds-on favorites to win the NBA Finals this season, and Haliburton or not, they should be more than able to take care of business on the road.
Still, this is the NBA playoffs, and anything can happen, so they must make sure to bring their A-Game for the two games on the road.
