Jazz Are Expected To Shop Veteran Power Forward This Offseason

Not so long ago, John Collins looked like a potential breakout candidate in the NBA.

He was a solid defender, and his ability to stretch the floor with his three-point shooting and grab rebounds made him a valuable asset.

Nonetheless, despite his solid pick-and-roll partnership alongside Trae Young, the Atlanta Hawks decided to shop him to the Utah Jazz.

One year later, the Jazz might come to the same conclusion.

According to a report by Evan Sidery of Forbes, the Jazz are expected to shop the Wake Forest product this offseason.

The Jazz are expected to shop John Collins in trade talks this offseason.

Collins averaged 15.1 points and 8.5 rebounds while shooting 37.1% on threes.

He averaged 15.1 points and 8.5 rebounds while shooting 37.1% from beyond the arc.

Collins has shown that he can score 17 to 20 points with eight rebounds and a couple of three-pointers per game, all while being a plus on defense, so there should be plenty of suitors for his services.

He could have a role similar to Aaron Gordon’s role with the Denver Nuggets in the right setting.

The Jazz have a building block in Lauri Markkanen, and with both playing pretty much the same position, it doesn’t make much sense to keep him there.

Also, with Walker Kessler set to take over as the starting center, there’s simply not that much room for him in their logjammed frontcourt, so they might as well get something in return for him.
