Over the past couple of years, the Boston Celtics have been better on the road in the playoffs than at home.
That’s a weird trend, but they’ve been mostly a .500 team at the TD Garden when the postseason comes.
They’ve put themselves in some tough spots, especially after Game 2s, but they’ve bounced back more often than not.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see that Jayson Tatum loves Game 3s.
Following the win over the Indiana Pacers, the talented forward revealed that he loves Game 3s the most because they’re the first game on the road and the energy is always different (via Jay King).
Jayson Tatum said he enjoys Game 3s the most.
“Going into an opponents’ home building. It’s their first home game.”
He said the Pacers hadn’t lost a home game since March 18 so he knew it was going to be a battle. They had been 6-0 at home in the playoffs.

The Celtics now have the Pacers against the ropes, and another win in Game 4 will put an end to their season.
Something had to give.
A great home team was set to meet a great road team, and the Celtics got the nod this time.
Tatum has faced some criticism for his performances in the playoffs, particularly in big games, but he came up huge down the stretch in Game 3 to help his team orchestrate a big comeback.
Now, if things go right for Tatum and Joe Mazzulla’s team, the Celtics will also be on the road for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, and that’s where their franchise player will have to be at his absolute best.
