After coming close to winning Game 1 in overtime and then suffering a late-game collapse in Game 3, the Indiana Pacers are now facing an 0-3 deficit heading into Game 4 against the top-seeded Boston Celtics.
As if being in a 0-3 hole wasn’t bad enough for the upstart Pacers, Indiana will likely be without star guard Tyrese Haliburton once again, which will make it that much more challenging for this team to get back into this series and potentially advance to the NBA Finals.
Although the Pacers have made a valiant effort to give the Celtics a run for their money in this series, it seems inevitable at this point that the team’s season will come to an end sooner rather than later.
However, that hasn’t stopped Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle from motivating his squad, as he is using the fact that the league is preparing for a trophy ceremony after Game 4 to get his players amped heading into the elimination game via Alex Golden.
“When you’re the head coach of an NBA team you tend to get information on things, and one thing I just heard in the last few minutes is that the league is making logistical plans for a trophy presentation on our floor tomorrow,” Carlisle said. “That’s something that I think should make our players’ blood boil and our fans’ blood boil.”

Without Haliburton, it will take quite an effort from the Pacers to get the best of the Celtics in Game 4 in order to extend their season a little bit longer.
Only time will tell if this scrappy young Pacers team has what it takes to win games without their star player, as all signs point to the series coming to an end in Game 4.
