The Dallas Mavericks are getting the best version of Kyrie Irving, and it’s been an absolute beauty to watch.

Kyrie had developed a bad reputation around the league, up to the point where his free-agent market wasn’t as prominent as it should’ve been.

His antics with the Boston Celtics, his drama with the Brooklyn Nets, and his history of questionable remarks off the court made people feel like he wasn’t fully invested in basketball, not to mention that he was a problematic figure.

Fast forward to today, and he’s been a very positive influence in the locker room and the perfect sidekick for Luka Doncic.

With that in mind, ESPN insider Brian Windhorst claimed on “Get Up” that we were finally witnessing Kyrie in full bloom, adding that he hopes it lasts because it’s a beauty to watch.

.@WindhorstESPN believes Kyrie is rewriting his career narrative.

“For the last seven years, what Kyrie has been doing is breaking up big twos and big threes. … Kyrie has completely pivoted. … We are living with Kyrie in full bloom here.” pic.twitter.com/vGMJ7w2rR6

Windhorst stated that Kyrie had a reputation for breaking up star duos and big threes, but he’s now become this player after all those failures and mistakes.

Irving’s talents have never been put into question, but he had some well-documented character issues along the way.

Still, it’s been more than half a decade since he left the Cleveland Cavaliers, and while some of his antics weren’t that long ago, people can change or simply be misjudged.

Perhaps he feels at home in Dallas.

Perhaps he sees something special in Luka.

Perhaps it’s his admiration for Jason Kidd.

Perhaps he’s more mature.

Perhaps he was never the way the media portrayed him.

Maybe it’s all of the above.

Whatever the case, it’s been beautiful to watch indeed.
