The Denver Broncos made the big move to select Oregon quarterback Bo Nix with the No. 12 overall pick in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft.
Head coach Sean Payton appears to now have his quarterback of the future.
FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd had this to say about Payton and Nix possibly being able to find success:
“Sean Payton with Drew Brees worked because they’re both sort of old school…I think Bo Nix feels like that,” Cowherd recently stated on “The Herd.”

Brees and Nix have a lot of similarities in terms of how they came out of college.
Both played a long time in college.
Brees played in 45 games at Purdue while Nix played in 61 across his time at Oregon and Auburn.
Both stand around six-feet tall.
They also set records upon records in college.
When Payton and Brees worked together for 15 seasons in New Orleans, the Saints were Super Bowl contenders almost every year.
They had 10 seasons with a record that was .500 or better.
They won the NFC South seven times and made the playoffs nine times.
Of course, the team won its first-ever Super Bowl in 2009 thanks in large part to Payton and Brees.
Now, Payton is looking to make magic happen with a player who is very similar to Brees.
Time will tell to see how quickly the former Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year in Nix will start.
The team did trade for former first-round pick Zach Wilson, and veteran Jarrett Stidham is also on the roster.
