Heading into the Western Conference Finals, the Minnesota Timberwolves were brimming with confidence, as they had just taken down arguably the best team in the league, who many believed would go on to repeat as NBA champions.
After taking down Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in six games, the Timberwolves were considered to be the best team left in the West and perhaps a team that could beat Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics in a seven-game series.
Although the Dallas Mavericks proved they are a force to be reckoned with, having beaten the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in six games in the second round of the NBA playoffs, Anthony Edwards’ squad was thought to be the better all-around team, especially on the defensive end of the basketball floor.
However, with three games in the books in the Western Conference Finals, Dallas is sporting a commanding 3-0 lead and clearly seems to be the better team in the series and destined to advance to the NBA Finals to take on Boston or the Indiana Pacers.
Chris Broussard of FOX Sports put it simply that the series is over between the Mavericks and Timberwolves, as it is only a matter of time before Dallas advances via First Things First.
“It’s over!” Broussard said.
“IT’S OVER!”

With Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving turning into one of the most dynamic superstar duos in the league throughout this playoff run, Dallas looks like they could go on to win it all if they can continue to play at a high level moving forward.
It’ll be interesting to see how they close out this series and whether they have what it takes to take down the 64-win Celtics in the Finals.
