Contrary to what some people think, the Boston Celtics were actually battle-tested in the playoffs.
The series vs. the Indiana Pacers was hard-fought, and while they won all four games, they could’ve lost at least three of them.
That’s why Celtics legend Paul Pierce isn’t worried about his former team ahead of the NBA Finals.
Talking on “Undisputed,” the retired forward admitted that he actually enjoyed the fact that the Celtics were in some close games, as it showed them that they could come from behind and win games.

He explained that some of the games were actually closer because of Tyrese Haliburton’s injury, as there was plenty of unpredictability with unexpected players stepping up and playing bigger roles.
Also, even though the Pacers clearly don’t have the talent the Dallas Mavericks or Minnesota Timberwolves have, Pierce stated that having the know-how and being tested to win these kinds of games could do wonders for a team.
Truth be told, he might be right on point.
The knock on this Celtics team was the fact that they usually dropped games they should’ve won.
They had a tendency to go through the motions and play without intensity, but they proved that they could flip the switch and pick things up when the game was on the line.
Even so, they can’t afford to dig themselves into big holes against the likes of the Dallas Mavericks, and they’ll have to be at their best if they want to put an end to their championship drought once and for all.
