The Boston Celtics haven’t won a championship in quite a while — 16 years, to be exact.
That roster was full of talent, but it was also full of hard-nosed competitors and strong characters.
Most of them still hang out with each other and like each other, but there were also plenty of disagreements and problems.
Ray Allen had several issues with some players, and his feud with Rajon Rondo was the worst-kept secret.
Now, the former NBA champion reveals they actually put on some gloves and boxed it out in the weight room.
Talking to Chandler Parsons and Lou Williams on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back,” Rondo revealed that several players boxed their issues out in that Celtics locker room, adding that his fight with Allen was broken down quickly (via NBACentral).
Rajon Rondo admits putting on boxing gloves to fight Ray Allen
“There was no point in talking about each other behind each others back, let’s just fight as men”

He also stated that perhaps they could run it back, as that’s what celebrities do nowadays.
Allen left the Celtics on bad terms, and while he claims that the team low-balled him, the fact that he joined their biggest rivals at the time, the Miami Heat, rubbed most players the wrong way.
They didn’t even invite him to their parties or reunions, and some of them badmouthed him left and right.
Allen has squashed the beef with some of his former teammates, but judging by Rondo’s words, they might not be on the best terms.
Still, the Celtics worked as unit when they were on the floor, and that’s all that matters, as they were able to finish the job regardless of their issues.
