The Minnesota Timberwolves avoided elimination.

Anthony Edwards had his best performance of the series, dominating with 29 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists.

He also made some big-time shots down the stretch, including a three-pointer to put the game out of reach.

Nonetheless, the biggest difference was Karl-Anthony Towns.

For the first time in the series, Edwards’ co-star finally showed up to play.

That’s why, after the game, Hall of Famer Charles Barkley claimed that it was only right to give Towns his flowers, going as far as to say that he saved the Timberwolves’ season (via NBA on TNT).

Barkley claimed that as much as they’ve been hard on him and as bad as he’s been throughout the entire series, they had to give him credit for showing up to play and making some big shots.

Towns struggled again in the first half.

Then, he flipped the switch in the final two quarters, being aggressive, posting up, and not settling for forced three-pointers.

Also, he finally shook off his shooting woes from beyond the arc.

Towns finished the night with 25 points, five rebounds, one assist, and four three-pointers on 69.2% from the floor.

This is the kind of performance they needed from a former No. 1 pick still in his prime, not to mention the fact that he’s a seasoned veteran.

Hopefully, he’ll be able to keep this up in Game 5, as Rudy Gobert won’t give them much on offense, and Edwards had looked exhausted before Tuesday’s game.
