The Los Angeles Lakers have done absolutely everything they could to keep LeBron James happy.

They gave him an elite sidekick in Anthony Davis, and they pivoted from a trade that was already agreed upon to pair him with Russell Westbrook.

Jeanie Buss has talked about going the extra mile to make sure James plays for the Lakers until his final days in the league, and he’s always been at the center of their decision-making.

That’s why, as much as some people speculate that this could be the end of the line for the four-time NBA champion in Los Angeles, some analysts just don’t see him leaving.

Notably, that includes Jay Williams, who recently shut down all speculation about James potentially joining the Philadelphia 76ers or any other team.

Talking on ESPN’s “Get Up,” Williams claimed that’s just not happening.

Even so, that doesn’t mean James will pick up his player option for next season.

There has been an expectation about James declining that option for months now, and it has everything to do with contract structure.

Of course, him being a free agent, multiple teams will reach out to try and lure him somewhere else, but it would have to take a massive offer to get him away from Southern California, his business, and his family.

James is most likely going to opt out and sign a two-year contract with the Lakers, adding more money to his current deal and making sure to finish his career with the Purple & Gold.
