The San Francisco 49ers have officially locked up one of their starting wide receivers.
No, it’s not All-Pro Brandon Aiyuk.
It’s not another All-Pro in Deebo Samuel, either.
Instead, it is role player Jauan Jennings.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jennings was given a two-year deal worth up to $15.4 million.
$10.5 million will be guaranteed for Jennings in the contract too.

After being drafted in the seventh round back in 2020 out of the University of Tennessee, Jennings has carved out a nice role for himself out in the Bay Area.
With Aiyuk, Samuel, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey in the building, it’s hard for Brock Purdy to get anyone else the ball.
Jennings’ best season came in 2022 when he brought in 35 passes for 416 yards and a touchdown.
He also caught five touchdowns as a rookie too.
Most importantly, he showed up big-time in the playoffs last year when Purdy needed him to.
In San Francisco’s three playoff games, including the Super Bowl, Jennings brought in 10 receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown.
No, he isn’t a No. 1, a No. 2, or even maybe a No. 3 wide receiver.
But, he is a consistent player that makes plays in big moments.
He is this team’s David Tyree or Jermaine Kearse.
He might not make it on ESPN every week after the team’s win, but something he did surely helped the team pull off the victory.
