After finishing the 2023-24 NBA regular season with an impressive record of 47-35, which was the complete opposite of last year’s record (35-47), the Indiana Pacers were able to secure the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference heading into the NBA playoffs.
Although the Pacers had made a massive improvement from one season to the next, winning 12 more games and seeing a potential superstar emerge in guard Tyrese Haliburton, no one gave this team on the rise a chance of competing with the best of the best in the East during the postseason.
However, that didn’t turn out to be the case, as the Pacers were able to beat the Milwaukee Bucks in six games during the first round and then get the best of a scrappy New York Knicks team in seven games in the second round, setting up a tough challenge against the top-seeded Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Although the team put up a fight against the Celtics, Boston was too good, and Haliburton was hurt, so the season came to an end without a trip to the NBA Finals, but the future is bright in Indiana, with some players making an impression like Andrew Nembhard, who is eligible for a contract extension and might get a new deal quickly, according to Evan Sidery of Forbes.
Andrew Nembhard is eligible for an extension following his breakout postseason performance.
Don’t be surprised if the Pacers quickly work to sign Nembhard to a long-term deal that gives him a significant raise from his current $2 million salary.

With Nembhard proving to be a clutch performer in the playoffs and a valuable asset alongside Haliburton in Indiana, the Pacers doing all they can to secure his long-term future with the team makes a lot of sense.
It’ll be interesting to see how fast this extension gets done and what other moves the Pacers may make this offseason to improve the team moving forward.
