The Los Angeles Lakers need a new head coach.
After the 2023-2024 season didn’t turn out as well as some expected, the Lakers are forced to go back to the drawing board.
Darvin Ham only made it two years as head coach, a sign of how high the expectations are for this franchise.
The Lakers are a historic organization with a rich tradition of winning championships, but that hasn’t been in the team’s DNA as of late.
With any luck, a new head coach and coaching staff could help change that.
There has been a lot of buzz surrounding J.J. Redick to become the team’s newest head coach, but another name has emerged to join him on the staff.
According to reporter Dan Woike via NBA Central, Rajon Rondo could join the team as an assistant coach.

Rondo isn’t just a former player, he is also a former player who has suited up for the Lakers.
He has an understanding of what this franchise is looking for, which could be a big step in the right direction for this team moving forward.
The Lakers are trying to make the most of their time with LeBron James, and seem to want to do anything possible to accomplish their goals and win another championship.
If adding coaches like Rondo and Redick is what the front office thinks they need, then it wouldn’t be surprising to see these two on the sidelines next season.
With potential new coaches on the horizon, will the Lakers get back to a dominant place next year?
