The NBA Draft is quickly approaching and teams are making their plans and getting to know the prospects who could help them win next season.
One of them is Zach Edey, the Purdue big man who has generated a decent amount of interest among various teams.
Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson is reporting that the New Orleans Pelicans have scheduled a draft workout with Edey.
The team has the No. 21 overall pick in the draft next month and may use it to acquire Edey, especially because their current big man Jonas Valanciunas is likely to move this summer.

Edey is a 7-foot-4, 300-pound big man who has raised his profile in some huge ways during his time with Purdue.
Still, it’s been hard to gauge where he will land in the draft next month.
Some analysts and scouts think he could be a huge benefit to a number of teams, using his size and strength to his advantage.
And others feel that all he has is size and strength and his shooting abilities are lacking.
There are also questions about his defensive abilities and obviously a man his size has to bring defense to the game.
Therefore, he could land anywhere in the draft.
As for the Pelicans, they need to make plans in case Valanciunas does leave.
He is reportedly not considered a good fit alongside Pelicans superstar Zion Williamson and most reports envision him leaving this summer.
If the Pelicans don’t take Edey, a number of other front offices could contemplate drafting him.
Most people agree he will most definitely make his way into the NBA, it’s just not entirely clear who he will play for.
