According to recent reports, the Los Angeles Lakers could be close to choosing their new head coach.

Some sources have said that former player and current commentator JJ Redick is the frontrunner to land that coveted position.

But on Thursday’s episode of “Undisputed,” Skip Bayless said that could be disastrous for Redick and isn’t a role he should take on.

He also believes that LeBron James has a lot to do with Redick’s possible hiring, regardless of what he says.

Bayless admitted that Redick knows basketball well and he has a very talented mind.

He shows that often on his new podcast with James and his numerous television appearances.

However, that doesn’t mean he should leap at the chance to be the new head coach for the Lakers.

For starters, that is a job that comes with a ton of pressure and expectations right away.

No matter where they are in the standings, Lakers fans and the media always expect the team to do very well and even be championship contenders year after year.

Redick would have to turn the team around in a big way or else face the wrath of the press and loyal followers of the team.

This would be Redick’s first coaching job, which would add even more scrutiny.

He could end up being a huge hit and doing great things for the Lakers but he could also come up short and potentially be fired after just one year.

That is not the way that someone wants to start their career as a head coach.

There is a lot of risk and little reward for Redick, Bayless claims, and that is why he shouldn’t take the job.
