The 2024 NBA Draft class isn’t particularly impressive.

However, most scouts believe that Alex Sarr could end up being a defensive anchor right out of the gate for whichever team gets him.

Standing at 7-foot-1 with a 7-foot-5 wingspan, he’s an NBA-ready defender with impressive athleticism and rim-running/rim-protection skills.

Of course, like most young players, he can continue to grow — both literally and figuratively — and he recently revealed that doctors think he might get to 7-foot-2 or 7-foot-3 by the time he’s done growing.

Notably, that wouldn’t be the first or only impressive growth spurt he’s gone through in his lifetime.

In a recent sitdown with Paul George for “Podcast P,” he revealed that he actually went from 6-foot-8 to 7-foot at the ripe age of 14.

Perhaps scientists will have to start taking a closer look at that water in France, as they seem to be making seven-footers in labs by now.

The National team will be all set in the paint for years to come with Victor Wembanyama and Sarr, and Rudy Gobert could back them up off the bench.

As of now, Sarr is projected to be the No. 2 pick and play for the Washington Wizards, but anything can change from now until the day of the event.

His jump shot is still a work in progress, and most of his offense comes from dunks, put-backs, and lobs, but he’s got the defensive prowess that makes him a potential generational rim protector, especially if he keeps growing like the doctors said.
