The Denver Broncos are trying to become a winning franchise once again.

Obviously, the last time that they were a great team was when they had Peyton Manning, which is coming up on 10 years ago.

What many people might forget is that, along with Manning, Denver had some great pass-catchers to help out the five-time MVP.

They had the likes of the late, great Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, as well as Eric Decker and Wes Welker before they won the Super Bowl.

Under head Sean Payton, this team is looking for their wide receivers to step up in a new era with a possible rookie starting quarterback in Bo Nix taking the reins.

One of the wide receivers that Payton is looking to see step up is second-year wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr.

“I think we’ll see a lot of growth from Year 1 to Year 2. He’s tough. He had a really good play today,” Payton recently told the Denver media.

The team made waves by trading former first-round wide receiver Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns earlier this offseason.

That is why Mims has to step up this year.

He needs to help No. 1 wide receiver Courtland Sutton carry the load in the air attack.

The Pro Bowl kick returner caught just 22 passes for 377 yards and a touchdown as a rookie last year.

He only started seven games last year, which will definitely change with Jeudy being gone.

Look for Mims to have big-time growth as an NFL sophomore this upcoming season.
