After an incredible season that resulted in taking the Indiana Pacers to seven games in the second round of the NBA playoffs, the future looks bright for the upstart New York Knicks, as the team has proven to be tough, resilient, and a squad that is headed in the right direction with superstar guard Jalen Brunson leading the way.

Although there’s no doubt that a bright future is ahead for the Knicks with Brunson at the helm, New York will have some work to do in order to keep the team intact during the NBA offseason while also adding important pieces to the championship puzzle.

Currently, the team has to make decisions about a few key players on the current squad, such as OG Anunoby (player option), Alec Burks, Precious Achiuwa, and Isaiah Hartenstein.

According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports via NBACentral, Hartenstein could become a hot commodity on the open market this summer and might be in line for a massive contract.

“League executives and cap strategists are projecting Hartenstein will be able to draw at least $80 million, and perhaps upward of $100 million, from a team hoping to steal Hartenstein from Madison Square Garden,” Fischer said.

With Hartenstein potentially commanding such a high number, it’ll be interesting to see what direction the Knicks go and how much they value the 26-year-old center.

In 75 games during the regular season, Hartenstein averaged 7.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game, shooting 64.4% from the floor and 33.3% from beyond the arc.
