NBA and NFL players are making more and more money by the year.
The new TV deals and the fact that the salary cap keeps rising have made some of the best players in the game earn generational wealth in one year or one contract alone.
This isn’t going to change any time soon.
If anything, it’s only going to keep happening, and the payers will make absurd sums of cash sooner rather than later.
With that in mind, the guys from the UNSPORTSMANLIKE Radio Show asked former NFL GM Mike Tannenbaum if there was a number that he wouldn’t pay Patrick Mahomes.
With new TV deals, we stumbled into the conversation around Patrick Mahomes.
Is there a number @RealTannenbaum would say “no” to if he was the #Chiefs GM?

Tannenbaum tried to play it safe by stating that he would try to educate Mahomes as to why it would be hard for any team to give him, say, $100 million a year if the salary cap stayed around $250 million.
He added that he would go the extra mile to make sure they don’t have to pay him that much money.
However, he also confirmed he would never trade him.
At the end of the day, it’s all proportional.
It’s not far-fetched to think a star player will get $100 million a year soon, but that will only happen with an expanded salary cap as well.
Some might argue that athletes shouldn’t make that kind of money, and they might be right.
However, they also generate wealth, so why not get a big chunk of the pie? They’re the ones putting their bodies on the line every day.
