The Boston Celtics are one of the most successful franchises not only in the NBA but in the world of professional sports, with the storied franchise currently having 17 championship banners hanging in the rafters at TD Garden.

Although the Celtics have the head-to-head edge over the arch-rival Los Angeles Lakers, the franchise is tied with the iconic team from the West Coast in the total number of championships won, meaning the upcoming NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks holds significant importance.

After winning a league-best 64 games in the regular season during the 2023-24 campaign, the Celtics headed into the NBA playoffs with high hopes of winning that elusive 18th championship, as the team is stacked on both ends of the basketball floor.

Along with the pressure of trying to win an NBA-leading 18th championship, superstar forward Jayson Tatum will be playing in his second Finals in the last three seasons, with everyone wanting to see if he can finally win a title.

If Tatum can’t win against Luka Doncic and company, Keyshawn Johnson of FOX Sports believes it might be over for him in Boston, via “Undisputed.”

“If Jayson Tatum doesn’t win, everyone will start to ask and question if you need to move him,” Johnson said.

It would be safe to assume that if the Celtics lose in the Finals this year, Boston won’t look to move Tatum, with the team’s roster being one of the best in the league and more than capable of eventually winning it all.

However, the pressure will start to mount on Tatum as the narrative will begin to develop that he doesn’t have what it takes to shine when the lightest are the brightest.
