The Washington Commanders have made a couple of moves at kicker.
After recent off-the-field allegations involving veteran kicker Brandon McManus came to light, the team made the move to release him.
Now, Washington has signed a veteran kicker to replace McManus.
According to the team on social media, they added journeyman Ramiz Ahmed.
This was a move that the Commanders absolutely needed to make.

Ahmed has bounced around multiple leagues in his young career.
The 28-year-old signed with the Chicago Bears practice squad back in 2020 after going undrafted out of Nevada.
He took 2021 off.
Then, he signed with the Pittsburgh Maulers of the USFL in 2022 before getting a shot with the Green Bay Packers later on in the year.
After taking the 2023 season off, he joined the Birmingham Stallions of the UFL before joining Washington just recently.
In a span of five years, he has seen a lot.
Now, he finally has a prime opportunity to become a starting kicker in the NFL.
While in Chicago, he just wasn’t in a good situation.
While in Green Bay, legend Mason Crosby was standing in his way.
Now, he has the opportunity to become a real contributor, at least in training camp, with nobody in his way.
The Las Vegas native has played in just one NFL game, and it came with the Packers as their kickoff specialist.
He hasn’t actually kicked field goals in an NFL game before.
It will be interesting how it all pans out for both parties.
