Trash talk is always an interesting piece of sports.

It either adds a fun element, or it intensifies the hate between teams and players.

One rivalry is the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was recently asked by the Philadelphia media how he combats trash talk from Giants fans.

“We got your best player,” Sirianni laughably said.

That best player happens to be Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley, who signed with the Eagles on a three-year deal earlier in the offseason.

While with the Giants from 2018-2023, Barkley recorded over 1,100 scrimmage yards and 8+ touchdowns in four of six seasons.

The former Offensive Rookie of the Year should have the opportunity to continue being a star in the City of Brotherly Love.

Philadelphia could be Super Bowl contenders again in 2024 despite a rough ending to what felt like such a promising season.

After starting 10-1, they finished 11-6 and lost in the wildcard round to Tampa last January.

Led by Pro Bowl quarterback Jalen Hurts, the offense has the opportunity to be scary good, especially with a couple of Pro Bowl-caliber receivers in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith out wide.

On the Giants side of things, they could be entering another rough season.

This is a franchise that has just one winning season in the last seven years.

They have not won the NFC East since 2011, which was the last time they won the Super Bowl.

Time will tell to see if head coach Brian Daboll can bring this franchise back to relevancy.
