The San Francisco 49ers are being favored by some to win the Super Bowl championship this coming season, but they also have some financial issues to sort out.

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is going into the final year of his contract and is looking for a contract extension, but the team will also soon need to give an extension to quarterback Brock Purdy.

This situation has led to rumors that Aiyuk or fellow wideout Deebo Samuel could be traded, although those rumors have died down since the draft.

Samuel said that he has put that talk behind him now, per 95.7 The Game.

Samuel is not only a productive wideout, but he is also a versatile one who performs multiple tasks in head coach Kyle Shanahan’s offense.

He caught 60 passes for 892 yards and seven touchdowns last season, but he also occasionally lines up as a running back and runs the ball on jet sweeps out of the backfield.

Samuel also is one of the 49ers’ emotional leaders who can help charge up his teammates, and that is something that is invaluable.

When he missed two games in October because of a shoulder injury, San Francisco lost both games he sat out and only mustered 17 points apiece in each of those contests.

It is very possible they will have no choice but to trade Samuel eventually in order to extend Aiyuk and Purdy while keeping all of their other stars and key players, but for now, they’re intact and looking to finally win it all.
