With free agency just around the corner, all NBA circles are talking about LeBron James again.

The four-time NBA champion could become a free agent by opting out of the final year of his contract, and that would make the most sense for him from a financial perspective.

Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to leave the Los Angeles Lakers, and most analysts predict he’s just going to sign another contract with the Purple & Gold.

However, Brian Windhorst, who has covered him throughout the course of his entire career, wouldn’t rule out any possibility.

In the latest edition of “Get Up,” he talked about James’ comments on being mad at the fact that he didn’t get to play with Kyrie Irving again.

He revealed that James actively tried to get the Lakers to trade for Kyrie last season, adding that the team actually could’ve created enough cap space to beat the Dallas Mavericks’ offer and sign him in the summer as well.

He stated that Kyrie also wanted James to go to Dallas, but with him being under contract, that just wasn’t feasible.

So, as much as he doesn’t see it happening any time soon, the foundation is set for the two stars to potentially team up again at some point.

Who knows?

Perhaps the Mavericks could make it a two-for-one and also go after Bronny James in the NBA Draft.

It’s hard to envision LeBron switching teams at this point in his career, but you can never say never in this league.
