Last week, Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics won this year’s Eastern Conference Finals MVP, proving that he is having a postseason that will be remembered for a long time.
Speaking about Brown, Kevin Garnett praised Brown and said that he deserves a ton of admiration.
“He really wants some respect on his name. He’s a f—— force and I love that. I hope they leave him out of some more awards so he can go crazy again,” Garnett said on “KG Certified.”

Brown, a three-time All-Star, had an incredible 2023–24.
He averaged 23 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game and then evolved even more during the playoffs.
He has put up 25 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.6 assists during the postseason and has repeatedly been the most important player for the Celtics.
While many people say that Jayson Tatum is the biggest star for Boston, others believe that Brown is the one who holds everything together.
Brown has faced his fair share of criticism, especially last summer when he earned the largest NBA paycheck in history.
Some claimed he wasn’t worth all that money and that he had some pretty big holes in his game.
Indeed, Brown hasn’t earned the sort of respect that Garnett thinks he deserves.
Now the Celtics are about to start playing in the Finals and that will give Brown another chance to shine brightly and prove all of his critics wrong.
He has already won Eastern Conference Finals MVP, but can he add Finals MVP to his trophy case?
Brown isn’t talked about as much as Tatum and other NBA stars but Garnett and a supportive group of fans think he is someone very special.
