The Dallas Mavericks are on the verge of entering the NBA Finals for the first time in more than a decade.
Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and the rest of the team are set to face off against the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the Finals on Thursday night and fans in Dallas are beyond excited.
They got even more hyped on Thursday morning when the team released a hype video featuring narration from Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes.
“Nobody expected the Mavs…Nobody wanted the Mavs. But nobody can deny that you’ve earned it,” Mahomes said in the video.
The response to this video did the trick and many people went online to show their support.

Many people agreed that the Mavericks will have to fight hard to win a championship.
The Celtics are technically the best team in the NBA and they will not go down without a fight.
The Mavericks will be underdogs and have to play their hearts out every single night.
It won’t be given. We gotta take it.

Others felt the choice of Mahomes as the narrator was a great idea.
Not only is he from the Dallas area, but he’s also an NFL champion and perhaps the best football player alive.

However, some people questioned why the Mavericks didn’t elect to use a player from the Dallas Cowboys instead.

Others noted that both the Mavericks and Celtics used NFL superstars for their videos.
Boston released a similar hype video for their fans but it was narrated by Tom Brady.
