After an incredible regular season in which the Boston Celtics finished with a league-best 64 wins, the storied franchise was able to cruise through the NBA playoffs, crushing the competition in the Eastern Conference in order to return to the NBA Finals for the second time in three years.

The Celtics only lost two games during the first three rounds of the postseason, which is impressive, to say the least, but they have a tall task ahead against the dynamic duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in the Finals, with the Dallas Mavericks being a force to be reckoned with.

However, Boston has already gotten off to a quick start in the Finals, with the team taking a 1-0 series lead after making easy work of Dallas in Game 1 at TD Garden on Thursday night.

While the Celtics are solely focused on taking down the Mavs in this series, that hasn’t stopped veteran big man Al Horford from putting in the work off the floor as he recently joined NBA Commissioner Adam Silver in unveiling a renovated gym in Boston as part of the NBA Cares Finals Legacy Projects program, according to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon.

Along with doing his part with the league off the floor, Horford is hoping to win his first NBA title this year, as he could be nearing retirement, having played nearly two decades in the league up to this point.

Despite turning 38 earlier this month, Horford has remained productive on the court for the star-studded Celtics, as he has become a pivotal part of this potential championship run for the storied franchise.
