Every single year, there’s a ton of speculation over which star or superstar player in the NFL will grace the cover of Madden, which is viewed as a high honor, even though some believe there’s a curse on these cover athletes.
Most of the time, the cover goes to one of the elite quarterbacks in the league, starting with Daunte Culpepper in 2002, followed by Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb, Vince Young, Brett Favre, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Josh Allen.
Although quarterbacks are clearly the position that gets put on the cover of Madden more often than not, there have been plenty of other players at different positions that have received the honor, like Marshall Faulk, Ray Lewis, Shaun Alexander, Troy Polamalu/Larry Fitzgerald (same cover), Peyton Hillis, Calvin Johnson, Barry Sanders, Richard Sherman, Odell Beckham Jr., Rob Gronkowski, Antonio Brown, and John Madden himself.
That said, the cover athlete for Madden 25 could easily be any position with a rising star or superstar, and that announcement will be made on June 11, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

With so many great players in the league today, it’s anyone’s guess who this player is, as some fans mentioned Travis Kelce, Christian McCaffrey, Dak Prescott, Joe Burrow, or Justin Herbert.
If the Madden franchise is going off popularity or someone who has made a lot of headlines recently, Kelce makes a lot of sense with all the attention he got last season for dating pop star Taylor Swift and winning a third Super Bowl title with the Kansas City Chiefs.
