NBA icon Charles Barkley popped up at the Stanley Cup Finals on Monday night, lending his bright personality and insight to the crew on ABC.

During his appearance, he couldn’t help but poke fun at the current situation he finds himself in with TNT.

“Listen, I wish I had a job next year. I’m on LinkedIn. I put on my resume, they are like ‘You never had a real job’. I said that’s not my fault,” Barkley said, according to Awful Announcing.

Charles Barkley once again jokes about his uncertain future at TNT.

Barkley is having a good time and joking around but the future of TNT is very murky.

The NBA is currently negotiating its broadcast rights for the future and many reports say that TNT might not be a part of their plans.

Instead, Disney (ABC and ESPN), Amazon, and NBC are the frontrunners to land the rights to the league starting after next season.

That means that “Inside the NBA” and all NBA programming on TNT could be a thing of the past.

The loss of “Inside the NBA” would be massive to the basketball community, as Barkley, Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Shaquille O’Neal have created something truly special over the years.

They have become a gold standard for sports shows and are beloved by NBA fans all over the globe.

Barkley would likely be just fine without the show and would move on to other projects on different networks.

In fact, because of his contract, he could be signed to another channel or streaming service and continue to share his perspective about the league for millions.

No one knows what’s next for Barkley right now but it’s very unlikely he will disappear from the NBA world.
