The NBA’s All-Star festivities have been a notable event for many years.
The dunk contest, historically, has been exciting for fans to watch, but it has shrunk in popularity in recent seasons.
Fans have expressed frustration with a lack of creativity during the dunk contest, and their complaints don’t stop there.
There are also complaints about the actual All-Star Game, as there is a distinct lack of defense during the game.
Players seemingly don’t want to get hurt during this event, making it less of an actual basketball game than it was 10 years ago.
While the league has tried to make changes to the game in recent years, even trying to incentivize players to compete, these concerns remain.
Adam Silver recently sat down with ESPN’s crew during the NBA Finals, where he was asked about what can be done with the event moving forward.
“We may be just past the point where guys and teams are incentivized to play a competitive All-Star game in the middle of the season,” Silver said.

If Silver has this attitude at the moment, it will be interesting to see what he and his colleagues do to shake things up even further.
Fans are irritated with the state of this event, and players are seemingly disinterested in competing.
The league will either have to offer a larger cash prize to potential competitors, or they could consider scrapping the All-Star Game entirely.
