The Dallas Mavericks are in some serious trouble right now.

No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in the NBA Finals, and their chances of becoming the first to do so are quite slim, to say the least.

They were up by as many as 13 points in the first quarter but took their foot off the gas and allowed the Boston Celtics to storm right back.

Then, they couldn’t get a single stop in the third quarter, and while they made a rally late in the game, it was just too little, too late.

Moreover, Jason Kidd’s team was without Luka Doncic to finish the game, as he fouled out.

Doncic blamed the officials after the loss, and Brian Windhorst did not like it.

Talking after the game, the ESPN insider called out Doncic for the way he’s costing his team (via ClutchPoints).

“His defensive performance is unacceptable… He is costing his team because of how he treats the officials… He owes this team a better performance in Game 4.”

He claimed that Doncic’s defense was as unacceptable as his body language.

Windhorst called Doncic a hole on defense and claimed that the Celtics were just attacking him, adding that the way he’s complaining about the officials is actively hurting his team.

He later claimed that someone would have to try to get him in the offseason to change his ways; otherwise, he would never win at the highest level.

Those are some harsh words, but it wouldn’t be the first time that someone says all of this about Doncic.

As great a player as he is, and as much as his defense had improved during the playoffs, his emotions often get the best of him, especially when it comes to officiating.

The Mavs have their backs against the wall, and this is where superstars are made.
