It takes more than just Xs and Os to find success in the National Football League.
You have to get people to believe in you and run through a brick wall for you if you’re a coach.
That’s just one of the main reasons why Mike Tomlin is Mike Tomlin.
Recently, former NFL player Solomon Wilcots talked to Ross Tucker about his thoughts on Coach Tomlin.
Talking on The Ross Tucker Podcast, he claimed that on top of his skills and knowledge, the fact that he knows how to lead men and make his message resonate within the organization is what has set him apart from other coaches.

There were rumors about the Steelers looking to part ways with Tomlin last season.
It didn’t take long before his own players claimed that they would leave the team if that happened.
That’s the kind of leadership and influence one wants in a head coach.
Granted, it’s been a while since the Steelers last won a playoff game, and such a historic franchise needs more than just ‘non-losing seasons.’
But we’re still talking about one of the best defensive-minded coaches in the game, and someone who has actively developed countless talents in this league.
Now, with a new quarterback and offensive coordinator, it’ll be very interesting to see what the new-look Steelers are capable of, as they were still a playoff team despite their flawed offense.
