The Boston Celtics didn’t have Kristaps Porzingis in Game 3.
They were underdogs ahead of tip-off.
They also trailed by 13 points midway through the first quarter.
None of that mattered, and they’re now up 3-0 in the NBA Finals.
That’s why Paul Pierce was on his worst behavior in his latest appearance on “Undisputed.”
He showed up fully dressed in Celtics apparel and was quite happy about his team’s win and claimed that the talent disparity was just too big to overcome, even without Porzingis.

He stated that the Celtics never wavered or turned away from their game plan, as they knew Luka Doncic was going to get his points regardless, and they just had to keep doing their thing.
This Celtics team had a reputation for underperforming in big moments, but that hasn’t been the case this time around.
Also, as great a player as Porzingis is, they had won 30 out of 35 games without him this season, so it’s not like he was the deciding factor for them.
The Dallas Mavericks have the best player in the series, and one could even make a case for them having the two best players.
Still, we’re talking about a team sport, and the Celtics are absolutely stacked at every position and have a deep bench.
Even when Jayson Tatum doesn’t play well, or his shot isn’t falling, they have more than enough firepower to overcome his shooting woes, and sometimes, it all just comes down to talent more than execution.
