The reviews for Luka Doncic’s performances during Game 3 of the NBA Finals keep pouring in and very few of them are positive.
Speaking on The Volume, Colin Cowherd blasted Doncic for his defensive effort during Wednesday night’s loss and said it’ll stick to him for some time because an NBA player’s career is “largely framed by Finals and Western Conference Finals.”
He then said that Doncic is a “better Carmelo Anthony.”
“He can shoot the three that Carmelo refused to, and he’s better than Carmelo,” Cowherd said.
He then piled on by saying Doncic isn’t in great shape, isn’t easy to play with, and isn’t committed to defense.

Cowherd brought up the fact that many people are lambasting Jayson Tatum for his lacking performances during the Finals.
If people are going to criticize Tatum then they should also criticize Doncic, especially since Doncic’s team isn’t winning.
Being compared to Anthony is obviously a good thing, as he is considered one of the most gifted shooters in recent NBA history.
But Cowherd is calling Doncic out with some very serious charges.
He isn’t the first person to suggest that Doncic isn’t in great shape.
Others have also said that he’s hard to play with and isn’t a strong defensive player.
These are problems that are talked about all season but they become more glaring during the playoffs and especially during the Finals.
The Mavericks have worked hard to get to this point but they are now on the verge of being eliminated and possibly even swept out of the Finals.
That means that there will be a lot more criticism of Doncic and his problems in the days and weeks ahead.
