With the NBA Finals potentially coming to an end on Friday night, with the Boston Celtics sporting a 3-0 commanding lead over the struggling Dallas Mavericks heading into Game 4, the next order of business in the league will be the 2024 NBA Draft, which gets underway on June 26.
Although there’s a lot of speculation about what the Atlanta Hawks might do with the No. 1 overall pick and some buzz swirling about the San Antonio Spurs potentially trying to trade up with their multiple picks in the first round, the one draft prospect that has seemingly gotten the most attention thus far is USC product Bronny James.
Obviously, being the son of NBA icon LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers is going to garner a lot of attention, but it seems as though the buzz around this prospect has grown louder and louder, with no one knowing where he might land in the draft later this month.
Despite the uncertainty about where the former Trojans star may land in the draft, it seems as though Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle has a good idea of where he’ll be selected, and he believes it will be higher than No. 50 overall by one team in particular, per the “Green Light with Chris Long” podcast (via NBACentral).
“I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict that he goes quite a bit higher than that…I’m not going to say who…I’ve been fined enough this year during the playoffs,” the coach said.

That team could very well be the Lakers, which would make Bronny and his father, LeBron, teammates on the NBA level, even though the rookie might not see the basketball floor for Los Angeles in his first season with the team.
Many believe Bronny James will have to prove himself in the G League before becoming a rotational player on an NBA roster.
