The Dallas Mavericks won’t go down without a fight.
Jason Kidd’s team showed plenty of pride in Game 4, putting their bodies on the line on every single possession, getting everybody involved, and making sure to stay connected and communicated on the defensive end of the floor.
That, plus the Boston Celtics looking overconfident and ready to party, translated into a 38-point blowout.
That’s why, when asked what he had learned from the game, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla was rather straightforward, claiming that he had learned that the Mavericks were a great team and that they would have to earn things (via Noa Dalzell).

Notably, it shouldn’t have taken a nearly 40-point blowout for them to figure that out.
Anybody can win again in the NBA, and particularly in the playoffs.
The Celtics could’ve just taken care of business to make sure to travel back to Boston with the Larry O’Brien trophy in their hands.
Now, the Mavericks have all the momentum, and the pressure has shifted sides.
No one has come back from a 0-3 deficit in the history of the NBA playoffs.
Simply put, the Mavericks don’t have anything to lose anymore.
If anything, they’re now expected to lose, whereas the Celtics are obliged to win.
That kind of pressure could make a strong team crumble, and while it won’t be easy, this is the NBA, and anything can happen.
