There’s nothing like a long-standing grudge to get you up in the morning, and nine years later, former NFL wide receiver Ed McCaffrey is letting it rip in regards to his son being slighted in 2015.

McCaffrey woke up yesterday ready to stir the pot, and in a recent media appearance, he said his son, Christian McCaffrey, was denied a special piece of hardware that he felt he deserved.

Ed spoke with former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III and said that he thinks Christian McCaffrey should have won the Heisman over Derrick Henry in 2015, saying “that’s taking nothing away from Derrick Henry…Christian did shatter a 20-year-old record held by Barry Sanders.”

McCaffrey did admit he was biased, but he also mentioned how biased the voting system is against West Coast players and pointed out how one voter admitted how he had only watched half of one Stanford game all year and that he knew Christian had no chance due to how many voters hadn’t watched him play.

In 2015, CMC ran for 2,019 yards and eight touchdowns, while corralling 45 catches for 645 yards and five touchdowns.

Ed pointed out how CMC was taken out for 13 1-yard touchdowns, which would have significantly boosted his stats.

Henry ran for 2,219 yards and 28 touchdowns and scored in every game en route to leading Alabama to a National Championship, creating a pretty flawless argument for winning the Heisman in the process.
