After getting dominated in the first three games of the NBA Finals, the Dallas Mavericks were finally able to get back on track and resemble the form they had against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals with an impressive performance in Game 5 on their home floor at American Airlines Center.

One of the main reasons the Mavericks got back to form was their effort on the defensive end of the basketball floor, which carried over to the offense and resulted in a 38-point blowout against the Boston Celtics.

Although no team in NBA history has ever come back from a 0-3 deficit, the Mavericks are taking it one game at a time and have an opportunity to make things interesting if they can get a win at TD Garden in Boston on Monday night.

Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd knows that his team has its work cut out for them, so they’ve got to go blow for blow with Boston via Rachel Nichols of FOX Sports.

“Just understand we would like to have a repeat performance, but we know that we’re playing one of the best teams in the league, and they’re playing at home,” Kidd said. “So for us, withstanding that first punch that they are going to swing.”

Obviously, the Celtics want to end this best-of-seven series as soon as possible, and there is no place better to do it than their home floor in Boston, TD Garden.

That said, Boston will likely try to come out firing on all cylinders on Monday, but whether Dallas can keep up and get another win remains to be seen, as the odds are not in their favor.
