The Boston Celtics hope that the season comes to an end on Monday night but that will only happen if they can beat the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
Following Game 4, there is concern they won’t be able to make that happen so they want their whole team ready to go.
Unfortunately, they might not get a lot out of injured big man Kristaps Porzingis.
On Monday’s “Run It Back,” Shams Charania said the expectation is that Porzingis will “play a similar role that he did in Game 4.”
Fans are hoping that isn’t the case and hope to see a lot more from him.

Prior to Game 4, it was reported that Porzingis would be available for the Celtics but would only be called upon if they really needed him.
He is still mending from a very rare injury and isn’t in the physical shape to play a full game, but he can help out at certain times.
In the end, Porzingis didn’t play at all, which was partly because the Celtics got blown out and weren’t even remotely close to coming back.
The Celtics chose not to use Porzingis because, frankly, there was no point.
Now the series is back in Boston and the Celtics are eager to score one last win and earn their championship banner.
But that doesn’t mean they will utilize Porzingis.
If they build a sizable lead, they will likely let him rest.
Meanwhile, if they end up falling far behind the Mavericks again, they will probably resist the urge to use him.
The Celtics want their talented big man but they don’t want to make his injury situation worse, even though the season is nearing its conclusion.
