Over the entire storied history of the Chicago Bears franchise, the team has been unable to bring in a superstar quarterback to lead this team, as for some reason, they had zero success in getting this crucial position right.
Even though the team has had some memorable quarterbacks like Jim McMahon and Jay Cutler, the Bears are notoriously bad at drafting young quarterbacks or signing veterans in NFL free agency.
However, things might be changing in the Windy City, with the team having the opportunity to bring a potential superstar in the form of USC product Caleb Williams, who the team selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Although nothing is guaranteed when it comes to Williams’ success on the NFL level, it would be safe to say that the Bears have never had a young player this talented with this much promise to play the position in Chicago.
In a recent appearance on The Jim Rome Show, Bears legend Brian Urlacher was asked about Williams and whether the team had finally found a franchise quarterback.
“He’s different…They just gotta keep him upright,” Urlacher said.

Clearly, Urlacher isn’t jumping to conclusions and assuming the Bears have the right man for the job under center, as he’s seen too many promising players come and go in Chicago.
As Urlacher mentioned, the Bears’ offensive line needs to keep Williams upright for the offense to succeed next season and beyond.
Fortunately, the Bears made a point of surrounding Williams with talent right out of the game with fellow rookie Rome Odunze and veteran Keenan Allen, but it remains to be seen whether the former Trojans star can be successful on the professional level.
