In the four years since legendary quarterback Tom Brady left the New England Patriots, the team has struggled to find it’s next franchise signal-caller.

Even though Mac Jones, a first-round draft pick in 2021, made the Pro Bowl and took the Patriots to the playoffs as a rookie, his game has declined ever since, and he is now a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The latest candidate to be the Patriots’ franchise QB is Drake Maye, the No. 3 pick in this year’s draft out of the University of North Carolina.

He was seen at TD Garden on Monday as the Boston Celtics were getting set to host the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, per Savage.

The Celtics lead the series three games to one, and a win on Monday would give them their 18th world championship, which would be the most in league history.

It has been a little while since the Patriots last won it all, and they have a steep uphill climb to go through just to become contenders again.

But if Maye turns out to be the real deal, he would be the biggest piece to a new championship puzzle for New England.

He played outstanding football the last two seasons with the Tar Heels, and he was named the ACC Player of the Year for 2022.

At 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, Maye seems to have the size to excel in the NFL, not to mention the speed and arm strength.

However, the Patriots lack viable skill players on offense, and thus it could take a little time for him to start to truly excel at the next level.
