With the Brandon Aiyuk situation continuing to drag on out in San Francisco, many believe that his time is coming to an end with the 49ers.

However, there are some analysts that believe he could still play another year with the team before moving on to another destination.

One of those analysts is Fox Sports’ Plaxico Burress.

“I believe that this will be his last year with the 49ers,” Burress recently stated on The Carton Show.

A lot of people around the NFL believe that Aiyuk could be traded this offseason if he doesn’t get his deal from the 49ers.

But, it would be interesting if he played one more year with the team on his current contract and then left to sign elsewhere as a free agent.

There are multiple reasons why his time in the Bay Area may be coming to a close.

For one, the team has already paid so many key pieces, such as the Offensive Player of the Year in running back Christian McCaffrey earlier this offseason.

All-Pro wide receiver Deebo Samuel got paid by the team a few off-seasons ago, and Pro Bowl quarterback Brock Purdy is still on his rookie deal.

The team is going to need to hold off on paying other players so that they can make room for the Purdy deal here soon.

Also, Aiyuk is an All-Pro and a 1,000-yard wide receiver but not of the caliber of a Justin Jefferson or a Davante Adams.

He deserves good money, but the 49ers should not feel the need to pay him, especially if their recent first-round pick in Ricky Pearsall turns out to be another good receiver.
