The Dallas Mavericks have one of the best and most talented players in the world.
Luka Doncic’s god-given talents are some of the most impressive we’ve seen, and it’s clear that he was born to play the game of basketball.
Nonetheless, as good as he is, he just finished his sixth year in the NBA, and we’re still hearing the same things about him.
It’s become painfully evident that he’s not in great shape, and he looks gassed and exhausted late in games, particularly late in the season.
Also, his constant complaining and body language have been a talking point for years.
That’s why former NFL star Chris Canty questioned his work ethic.
Talking on ESPN Radio’s UNSPORTSMANLIKE, he claimed that he didn’t know whether Doncic could be the leader of a championship-caliber team.
Chris Canty slams Luka Doncic’s work ethic
“I think Luka Dončić is closer to Kevin Durant than he is Dirk Nowitzki”

While he acknowledged that he could definitely be the best player on a championship-caliber team, he doesn’t think he has what it takes in terms of setting the tone, leading by example, and building culture.
He adds that those questions have stuck with him since his days in Europe.
Doncic is still young, and he needed to go through this learning experience.
Now, it’ll be up to him to take a deep look in the mirror and decide what to do with this and whether he wants to be an all-time great and a champion.
The talent is there, but he needs to get in better shape and keep his temper in check, as he’s his biggest — and perhaps his only — enemy right now.
