For years, scouts have deemed this to be one of the weakest classes in NBA Draft history.
However, as unimpressive as this class might be, there’s always a chance to land a star, particularly near the top of the order.
For most of the process, the French duo of Alexandre Sarr and Zaccharie Risacher have been expected to go No. 1 and No. 2 overall, respectively.
Nonetheless, it seems like the odds have recently shifted.
According to a report by Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports, Risacher has officially moved past Sarr in DraftKings’ sportsbook, boasting -115 odds to go No. 1.
Zaccharie Risacher has overtaken Alex Sarr as the betting favorite to become the No. 1 overall pick on @DKSportsbook:
Risacher = -115
Sarr = +110

Sarr, on the other hand, is now +110 to be the first-overall selection, with oddsmakers thinking he’ll fall to No. 2 and go to the Washington Wizards.
A recent report by NBA Draft expert Jonathan Givony revealed that the Hawks still hadn’t been able to host Sarr for a workout, which is rather unorthodox for a projected No. 1 pick, especially with the Draft set to take place next week.
The talented big man could be an impactful defender right out of the gate.
As for Risacher, he’s drawn comparisons to the likes of Franz Wagner, and is a fairly superior offensive talent, although there are also big questions about his seemingly limited upside.
The Hawks aren’t close to trading down and flipping that pick to get more draft capital for the future.
But even if that’s the case, it seems like Risacher could go No. 1.
